They say it takes a village, and at Fountain View Village we know that’s true! There are so many amazing people, organizations, and staff who make the exciting, engaging, and supportive lifestyle in our community possible, and we’d like to highlight two of our community’s amazing partners: Encore for More and Dementia Friendly Fountain Hills.

Encore for More

Started in 1990, Encore for More provides a wide range of services and opportunities throughout the Fountain Hills area, all with the purpose of enriching and improving the lives of our community’s seniors. At Fountain View Village, we are proud to partner with Encore for More to bring a variety of different events throughout the year!

This May, our very own Fountain View Village Chef Lisa Rinnus will be leading a cooking class, all about adding variety to your dining table by creating different dishes with the same ingredients. This event was made possible with the help of Encore for More, and were proud to have proceeds from the event go towards making more opportunities like this possible!

This is not the first cooking event that the non-profit has hosted for Fountain View Village. Previously, we enjoyed “Cooking for One” and “Healthy Eating for One” events, in addition to others, where Chef Rinnus showed attendees how to create different dishes using “Blue Zone Foods.” A plant-based eating style, Blue Zone prioritizes non-processed foods, choosing to favor plant-based ingredients like leafy greens, beans, and whole grains. We give our most heartfelt thanks to Encore for More president Gail Pape and her entire team for their help in enriching our community and the lives of our residents!

Dementia Friendly Fountain Hills

As the local chapter of the national Dementia Friendly America® program, our community is proud to partner with Dementia Friendly Fountain Hills to provide opportunities and education to enrich the lives of seniors living in our area. We are honored to support Dementia Friendly Fountain Hills’ mission:

To maximize the quality of life, community participation, and independence for Fountain Hills’s individuals living with dementia and their care partners through community-wide education, outreach, and advocacy.

We recently partnered together to host an “Interpret Your Brain’s Owner’s Manual” event, as well as our area’s 2nd Annual Dementia Friendly Summit.
