Memory Care Scottsdale, AZ

At Fountain View Village in Fountain Hills, AZ, our Memory Care program promotes accomplishment, dignity, and comfort in the daily lives of our residents managing Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia.

Three specially designed programs are the cornerstones of our customizable approach to Memory Care senior living, each encouraging accomplishment and fulfillment through daily activities: Heartfelt Connections, Obie Projectors, and Eldergrow.

Heartfelt Connections

Our compassionate memory care features the LCS exclusive program Heartfelt Connections, specifically designed for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias and customizable to each resident.

Using input from friends and family, our skilled and experienced team takes the time to learn your loved one’s life story, then applies those insights to develop custom activities and programming based on their lived experience. We create a daily routine as individual as each life story, giving attention to each of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness that our community care is based on: Physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, vocational, health, and environmental.

Obie Projections

An award-winning projection technology, Obie for Seniors is a fun and engaging activity that improves cognitive stimulation and motor skills – keeping seniors active and motivated. Obie projects hand-motion-activated original games onto any surface – tabletops, floors, and walls – encouraging active play through touching, moving, and hand-eye coordination skills. Sensors identify movements such as tapping and touching and offer a suite of games adaptable to different modes and levels to support a range of cognitive, social, and physical needs.

Gardening Program

Fountain View Village's therapeutic gardening program brings the healing power of nature to our residents. The horticulture enrichment program gives residents the opportunity to cultivate our vibrant indoor garden with biweekly classes led by visiting educators and teachers. The fun continues beyond the garden – the homegrown herbs and food are then featured in farm-to-table resident cooking demonstrations.

FAQs

There are many different types of signs that it may be time for your loved one to move to a memory care program. Worrying changes in behavior are a common indication, such as a loss of interest in hobbies or daily activities, social regression, and trouble performing basic daily activities, like using the microwave or dialing a phone. Your health and well-being as a caregiver are also important factors. If you are feeling burnout from caregiving or frequently overwhelmed, it may be time to rely on additional support for your loved one. Memory care programs allow you to revive the non-caregiving relationship you and your loved one previously.

The most helpful way to approach a conversation about memory care with your loved one is to present it as a discussion. Listen to your loved one’s concerns and help them find answers to any questions they have. Focus on the benefits that a memory care program provides, highlighting what they would gain and the services or amenities most interesting to them.

Memory care at Fountain View Village provides a specially designed approach to Alzheimer’s care and dementia care. Residents live in a warm and friendly family-like neighborhood with the safety of 24-hour onsite staffing and the compassionate care of highly trained personnel who focus on and celebrate residents’ remaining abilities. Our fine-tuned level of round-the-clock safety, sense of community and socialization, and specific expertise in Alzheimer’s care go beyond the capabilities of an in-home care service.

While both assisted living and memory care provide assistance with the activities of daily living, such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management, memory care at Fountain View Village offers a specific type of compassionate and supportive Alzheimer’s care and dementia care that is specially designed for those with memory impairment. Memory care residents live in a specifically designed “neighborhood” without our community that provides safety, security, and socialization. Each member of our memory care team is trained in our memory care program, Heartfelt Connections.
